Late last year, Professor Ashish Malik joined Queen’s Business School from the University of Newcastle, Australia, where he was an associate professor of HRM and head of discipline of the management group, Newcastle Business School’s most prominent group. Professor Malik brings over three decades of international experience in executive education and academia.

Professor Malik comments on his appointment:

‘I am very excited to take on the Director of Executive Education role at The William J Clinton Leadership Institute, Queen's Business School. The Institute has played a significant role in developing leadership skills in Northern Ireland and beyond in diverse areas, such as developing personal leadership capacity and the capability to lead in times of change, including disruptive technological and social change, serving diverse industries, government departments, businesses, and community organizations.

I look forward to working with our external stakeholders, internal colleagues at QBS, and long-serving associates to continue delivering a world-class learner experience for building leadership capacity and developing advanced skills through our flagship programs. I will also explore new opportunities for capacity building in current and new markets’.

Ashish Malik is a Professor of Human Resources Management at the Department of Organisation, Work and Leadership at Queen’s Business School. He gained his PhD in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Professor Malik has over three decades of international experience in executive education and academic roles, including several leadership roles at institutions in New Zealand and Australia and serving learned societies in India. Professor Malik’s research and teaching have been at the intersection of technological change and the future of work and leadership, including current challenges associated with adopting disruptive AI technologies and how they affect the nature of the work, workers, and the workplace. Professor Malik has published several significant studies and a book on the impact of AI on the future of work and human resources management.

Ashish’s research has featured in several high-rank journals such as the Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, Human Resource Management (US), Human Resource Management Journal (UK), International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of International Management, Human Resource Management Review, and the British Journal of Management, among others.
