Emerging Leaders Programme

The Emerging Leaders programme is designed to help transport your leadership skills to the next level in your personal leadership journey. Our immersive programme develops leaders who currently perform a managerial or leadership role and are keen to add new leadership skills, develop greater self awareness and motivate their teams for high performance.

Gain a firm understanding of who you are as a leader. Adapt your leadership resilience to navigate challenges. Learn to lead individuals, drive high potential teams. Lead with impact and influence within the organisation.

Key Takeaways and Benefits

Join our Emerging Leaders programme and deepen your awareness of your behaviour and how it impacts on others. Lead managers and teams for high performance. Work effectively with others to support cross functional thinking and buy-in.  Understand how to influence others. Provide an opportunity for you to reflect on the impact you have – and can have - as a leader.

Our condensed interactive online Emerging Leaders programme is designed to challenge, develop and empower emerging leaders who lead other managers or senior professional staff.  Particular challenges they will be likely to experience at this level of leadership include cross functional working; influencing senior manager buy-in; and identifying and developing managers for higher performance. Delivered over a series of modules the programme has three component parts: 1) Who I am as a leader? 2) Leading individuals and high potential teams 3) Leading within the organisation

What are past participants saying about this programme?

"I truly can’t recommend the Emerging Leaders Programme enough. I would go so far as to say this is the best personal development course I have taken to date! The delivery was informative, engaging and extremely forward thinking. The cohort were also incredibly supportive and open, which really added to the success of the programme. I would highly recommend this for anyone at any stage of their careers who are responsible for leading and managing others, particularly to understand the difference between management and leadership, within a rapidly changing working world" Hannah Watson - Events & Marketing Manager, Larchfield Estate

"The Emerging Leaders Programme at QUB Belfast has been a transformative experience for me, both professionally and personally. From the outset, the programme provided an opportunity to reflect deeply on my leadership style and develop a greater sense of self-awareness. I gained a much clearer understanding of who I am as a leader, which has been invaluable in shaping how I approach challenges and opportunities within my role. The sessions on resilience were particularly impactful, equipping me with practical tools to navigate the complexities of leading in today’s ever-changing environment. I’ve also learned to adapt my approach to better support and inspire my team, enabling them to perform at their best. The focus on high-performance team dynamics was insightful, giving me a new perspective on how to drive results while fostering a positive and collaborative culture. What sets this programme apart is its focus on real-world application. Each module encouraged me to apply new skills and concepts directly within my organisation, helping me to lead with greater confidence, influence, and impact. I’ve not only grown as a leader but also feel more prepared to contribute to the long-term success of my team and organisation. I highly recommend this programme to anyone ready to take their leadership journey to the next level." James Surginor – Manager, Home Office Financial Investigation Unit

"The Emerging Leaders programme is one of the best professional development experiences I’ve ever had. It was invaluable to have the chance to step away from our desks and think about the bigger picture of leadership and career development. The trainers are very knowledgeable on their subject matter, very approachable and took you on a journey where you confront your feelings, have to reveal yourself and trust in each other. The Programme has a good balance practical and learning with an emphasis on self-awareness and self-improvement, and gave me confidence in the knowledge that leadership has many faces and that leadership never ends" Tommy Scott - Head of Engineering, Survitec

“Completing the Emerging Leaders programme has enabled me to become a more pragmatic and perceptive leader. The programme structure provides a very constructive platform to develop the skills and knowledge to become an effective leader. For myself, before the programme, I was leading a team of engineers and unsure was I maximising our potential. Now however, I am confident in my ability to provide leadership which will not only be beneficial and productive to myself, but also my team and to the company.” Daniel Nolan - Flight Simulator Engineering Manager, Ryanair
